What is the date and hours for Black Arts Fest mke?

Black Arts Fest mke will be held Saturday, August 3, 2019.
The festival is open from noon – midnight. Gate ticket sales will cease at 10:30pm.

Where is the festival held?

The festival takes place at Henry Maier Festival Park, 200 North Harbor Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
Plan ahead and keep in mind it's construction season. To make the most of your time, find out current and up-to-the-minute road closures and traffic conditions at 511wi.gov.

Can I purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, you can purchase tickets online through midnight on August 2, 2019. Only adult (ages 12 & over) tickets are available in advance. Tickets are $9 (savings of $3 off the gate price). There are no service fees on your purchase.

How much are tickets to Black Arts Fest mke?

Are there any ways to get in free?

Military, Veterans and children (ages 7 and under) are free at all times. Please review all details and requirements for free admission on our admission page.

Do you offer group sales?

No, the festival does not offer group sales.

How much is parking?

Parking is $10 in lots operated by Summerfest at the south end of the festival park. Additional parking in available in lots throughout the neighborhoods near the festival park. Prices vary depending upon proximity to the grounds.

Can I take the bus to the gate?

Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) will not be operating buses, shuttles, or freeway flyers to the festival park during Black Arts Fest mke.

Are there bag checks or metal detection?

Yes, every bag will be searched prior to entry. All patrons, including children, are required to pass through metal detection to enter the festival park. Please note, wait times to will vary throughout the day depending on the number of patrons entering the festival at any one given time.

Are wheelchairs and strollers available?

You can rent wheelchairs and strollers on a first-come, first-served basis. Our wheelchair & stroller rental area is just inside the mid gate. The rental fee is $8 per rental of either. A valid picture ID is required to rent equipment.

Can I use credit cards?

Yes, you may use credit cards to purchase admission tickets at the gate . Many, but not all, of our vendors and exhibitors will accept credit cards.

Are there ATMs on the grounds?

Yes, ATMs can be found at different locations on the grounds. A standard service fee is charged for each transaction.

If I become separated from my child, what do I do?

Find a Summerfest security guard, member of the Milwaukee Police Department, or come to the OnMilwaukee.com Information Center for assistance. All lost children will be taken to our Lost Children's Area located inside the mid gate.

Are backpacks allowed?

Yes. However, all purses, bags, backpacks, etc. will be searched prior to entering the festival.

Can I bring in my own food and/or drinks?

No, no food or drinks are allowed. If you have food or drink at the entrance gates, you will be required to dispose of it before you are permitted to enter.

Can I bring my service animal?

Yes, of course. All service animals must be identified with a vest and be on-leash. Documentation certifying the animal's status must be in your possession. Owners are required to clean up after their service animal.

Can I bring my pet?

Sorry, the only animals allowed on the grounds are certified service animals or service animals in training.

Is there a lost and found area?

If you lose an item or find an item, please ask security to direct you to the festival office. The festival office is located south of the Harley-Davidson Roadhouse stage (not in use). You may be required to wait for a festival representative to meet and escort you to the festival office.

Can I bring my camera?

Yes. We encourage you to capture your memories at Black Arts Fest mke! We hope you will share them with friends and family on social media, too. #BlackArtsFestmke

Can I use a skateboard, wear skates, or bring a wagon?

No, these items are prohibited.

Is there someplace I can store my umbrella, check-in a package or purchase?

No, there are no check-in services available.

What if it rains? Are refunds available?

Grab an umbrella and a rain coat, because we will be celebrating African and African American culture rain or shine! Sorry, no refunds will be issued.
